Description
Some places seem to hover on the edge of the
imagination. The remote and exotic island of Socotra,
located between the coasts of Yemen and Somalia in the
Indian Ocean, is just such a place. Known by ancient Indian,
Arabian and Greek seafarers as an entrepôt for myrrh,
frankincense and dragon's blood, Socotra
has been biologically isolated for several million years.
Being virtually isolated from the rest of the world for such a
long period, Socotra remains one of the most fascinating
places on earth, and boasts Arabia's greatest plant and animal
diversity. This truly extraordinary journey will introduce you
to the natural wonders of this blessed island, sometimes
dubbed 'the other Galapagos'. This is a unique
Socotra holiday, which offers travellers the
opportunity to dive through the looking glass into an almost
otherworldly environment and one of the last remaining
unchanged corners of our world.

Single
Supplements:
We do not like
charging for single supplements, unless there is no other
option.
If you are travelling alone, we will try to
arrange a suitable twin share for you. If this is not possible
or desirable, we will endeavour to negotiate the single
supplement with the relevant accommodations to ensure the
absolute minimum extra cost to you.
We are unable to
offer single supplements on some journeys where there is no
alternative to the shared accommodation or vehicle/porter
logistics limit the amount of kit that may be carried. We can
offer single tents for a supplement, based on hire and
porterage charges at cost on some trips.
If you would
like to have single accommodation where possible, please
indicate this to us as a special request on your booking form
or on the special request section when booking
online.
