Description At the mention of Nepal, most people will conjure
up images of Himalayan mountains, trekking and little
more.
But, Nepal is also the confluence of two great
religions - Hinduism and Buddhism. This is the land where Lord
Buddha was born more than 2,500 years ago and is it also the
birthplace of Sita, consort of Hindu God, Lord
Ram.
While eight of the world's 10 tallest peaks are
here in this tiny Kingdom, wedged between Tibet to the north,
and India on the other three sides, the country should not be
solely judged for its high mountains, but also for its unique
cultural and spiritual heritage, artistic monuments and exotic
wildlife, which are reflected in the country's 102 different
ethnic groups and 93 dialects. This is a land of the fabulous
architecture and huge biodiversity. Nepal is also one of
the world's top adventure playgrounds for a vast range of
activities besides mountaineering, and this unique
introductory himalayan programme is designed to give the
traveller and would be adventurer a little taste of Nepal's
delights.
This adventure holiday in the Himalayas gives
an opportunity to sample simple low level trekking, mountain
biking and white water rafting as part of the programme. Bungy
jumping and canyoning (abseiling down waterfalls) can also be
organised as optional activities.
